In the continued effort to provide better educational opportunities for the Santos coaches Roswell Santos pursued hosting the USSF National Youth License. Coaches who have attended and earned the license say it was one of the best coaching courses they have ever attended. The course not only focuses on the training that is necessary for children but also explores the psychology and development of players. Coaches are trained on how to mentor and develop players from U6 to U12. The course requires the candidates to not only pass written exams and oral presentation but to also pass an on the field assessment. The candidates are evaluated over the course of two weekends and even get to watch themselves coach on video. It is an invaluable course for anyone working with youth players.

The Roswell coaches who earned the National Youth License are: Phillip Hatcher (U10 and U11 Boy’s Academy), Jean-Jean Gregoire (U10 Girl’s Academy, U12 Boy’s Academy), Jon Akin (U11 Girl’s Academy), Mike Patrick (U11 Girls Academy and Junior Academy Director), Gilbert Jean Baptist (U11 Boy’s Academy). With those 5 coaches Roswell now has 7 NYL coaches on staff. Great job guys!
