Program Overview

World Cup is a micro soccer program for ages 4 & 5, where fundamental skills of soccer will be taught in a friendly, noncompetitive atmosphere. This group will meet twice a week; once during the week and on Saturdays. In the practice sessions during the week, the players will learn the basic skills of soccer, such as shooting, dribbling and passing.  These sessions will be run by one of the members of the Roswell Soccer Club’s professional training staff and assisted by older Select players. The Saturday sessions will be games with volunteer coaches who will instruct the players as well as referee the games.

Program Specifics:

All practices are held  at Grimes Bridge Soccer Field (West side) and East Roswell Park (East side) and games are played at Waller Park Extension Lower Soccer Fields (West side) East Roswell Park (East side) .  The practices will be held Monday, Tuesday & Thursday afternoons (West side) or Tuesday and Wednesday (East side) with games played Saturday morning or afternoon.  Players practice one day during the week.

There are two seasons: Fall and Spring.  The Fall season is September and October and the Spring plays in March and April.

The fee for the program is paid through the City of Roswell and covers all playing costs.  Players receive a tee shirt, soccer ball and participation award.  The Spring 2012 fees are: Residents: $68 and Non-Residents: $102.  The program is open to ages 4&5 as of 8/1/11.
 

What Equipment is Needed?

All players should bring a soccer ball (inflated) and a water bottle to all practices and games.  Players must wear shin guards with soccer cleats or sneakers.

Registration Information

Registration for the next World Cup session (Spring 2012) has already begun so sign up now, because this program fills up quickly.  The program begins the week of 3/5/12 and ends 4/21/12.
