The Santos U14 Classic 96 Blue Boys team competed in the Emerald Coast Cup in Destin, FL, where they went up against other top teams from across the Southeast. After one win and one tie during qualifying play, they won their semi-final match to earn their place in the championship match against the undefeated Bay United FC team from Panama City Beach, FL. With a score of 2-2 after full time and two overtime periods, the game went to a penalty shoot-out. Santos’ goalkeeper, Tristan Kaisharis, stopped the opponent’s first two penalty kick attempts, while Christian Herndon, Jorden Lomas, Armon Khodayari, & Carter McBride all converted their attempts to give Santos a 2-2 (4-2) victory and the Emerald Coast Cup Championship.
