Roswell U13 Elite Girls Win Presidents Cup - Headed To Regionals in Alabama in June
The Santos 98 Elite U13 Girls defeated a very tough Cobb FC Lady Chief Gold team in the finals to claim the 2011 Georgia President’s Cup Championship. With less than 30 seconds remaining in overtime, the tenacious Santos girls managed to score the game’s only and game winning goal. The victory earned them a bid to the Region III Tournament to be held this June in Huntsville, Alabama. As Georgia’s representative, the team will compete against the champions of the eleven other states that comprise Region III.
As part of their end of season preparations the U13 girls took part in a NASA tournament the weekend of May 21-22, 2011. They played four games, winning three and tied once. The team did not concede any goals at this tournament.
